Robin Pomerenke (they/them)

Co Founder

Robin is passionate about growing our capacities for communication involving play and creativity. They are an experienced trainer, mediator, and coach with a background in law, children’s entertainment, and conflict resolution. Their work is grounded in the realization that holding space for others in conflict creates agency and leads to collective liberation. Through a focus on feelings and building emotional intelligence, they try to embody the concept of softness as power.

  • While earning their dual degree in Gender and Women’s Studies and International Intercultural Studies at Pitzer College , they studied abroad in Nepal, wrote a thesis on Intimacy in the Tech Industry, and worked with immigrant communities with the International Rescue Committee (IRC). They continued their work on immigration in law school at UC Hastings through policy work with the Asian Law Caucus (ALC) and authoring Intersectional Resistance: A Case Study on Crimmigration and Lessons for Organizing in the Trump Era.

In their final year at UC Hastings, they shifted their focus toward mediation and alternate conflict resolution. Through the mediation clinic, they began to mediate in small claims court supporting folks with a myriad of conflicts. This led to their work with Conflict Intervention Service, a program aimed to help curb evictions through housing mediations. Simultaneously, they trained and became a professional fairy attending celebrations every weekend, creating magic for children through face painting, balloons, and performance.

In the midst of the pandemic, they took on the role of Case Supervisor for the mediation program at SEEDS CRC, managing volunteer mediators and case developers as they conducted intakes and moved through the mediation process. They continued to expand their skills by becoming an OES practitioner with SEEDS where they support organizational conflicts, coach supervisors, conduct HR mediations, create and facilitate trainings on mediation and communication.

They currently work as the Co-Founder of Moksha where they practice as a mediator, facilitator, and coach. At work and beyond, Robin always brings color and comfort into the rooms they enter through their love of fashion, expansive views on gender and love, and their focus on holding space for feelings. Robin is a part of the queer community and can be found co-parenting, spending time with their polycule, sewing, ice skating, or watching animated shows on repeat.
